A visual artist from Prince Edward Island, Canada with a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design focusing on painting and printmaking. Since graduating she has participated in residencies at the Banff Centre, in Lunenburg NS and in her home province of PEI. In addition to a Fine Art degree, she holds a Science degree, from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Themes in her painted and site-specific installation work often involve obscure and underused spaces with a focus on practicality over aesthetic choices in both found and imagined composition.
Her most recent body of work was featured as a solo exhibition titled “accumulated, positioned, reflected”. The work records and compiles experience and information into visual composites, often leading to either repressive or obsessive tendencies in its production. Using the steps of painting as a process of data collection, a visual conglomeration, a means of digesting experience and the passage of less tangible units such as time and distance.
